IMU encourages students to exchange with Welsh university

Inner Mongolia University held two presentations about the exchange projects recently, to encourage its students to participate in academic exchanges with the University of Wales Trinity Saint David during the winter holidays.

IMU officials said the presentations took place at its south and north campuses, on Oct 9 and Oct 10.

Over 160 students from IMU’s south and north campuses, from all the majors, attended the presentations and fielded questions about the exchange program.

Guo Xi, director of IMU Academic Affairs Office, gave a presentation on the background, academic content and budgetary costs.

Other areas covered by the presentation included funding and accommodation arrangements.

The presentations encouraged students to go to foreign universities or scientific research institutions for course learning, experience innovative training, and embark on winter and summer camps or internships in international organizations, companies and laboratories.

Officials said IMU would increase the financial support and incentives for excellent students.

Li Xun, deputy director of the Welsh university’s East Asia office, talked about the general situation of the school and its Swansea city campus where the project is located.

Li also discussed course content, language requirements, teachers and safety measures.

Officials said he also shared his overseas learning experiences with the audience.
