A patent of invention –“a transformation method of turning Cyril Mongolian into Traditional Mongolian alphabet” from the lab of information processing technology on Mongolian in the School of Computer science and technology was authorized by SIPO on January 1st. Its patent number: ZL201410058055.8. Inventor: Fei Long (associate professor), Gao Guanglai (professor), Hou Hongxu (professor), Wang Hongwei(postgraduate, with Pro.Gao Guanglai as his tutor) and Bao Yulai ( associate research fellow).
Mongolian used in China is called “Classic Mongolian” and “Cyril Mongolian” in Mongolia (also known as Slavic Mongolian or New Mongolian). This invention provides an efficient transformation method from Cyril to Traditional Mongolian alphabet. With the use of the patent technology, the lab developed mutual conversion system between the two kinds of Mongolians (URL:http://trans.mglip.com). The amount of translation has been more than 1 million since the official use in October,2014, with users distributed in many countries, e.g. China, Mongolia and Japan. Not only the convenience in communicating between China and Mongolia does the system bring about, but also great significance in developing science, culture and education of Mongolia.
This invention provides an efficient transformation method from Cyril to Traditional Mongolian alphabet with the following procedures. Firstly, the Cyril Mongolian text is preprocessed, and then divided into Collected words and unlisted words; secondly, the included words are transformed by converting rules, while the unlisted words by joint sequence model; thirdly, transformed results from included words and unloaded words are merged together, but the final transformed results in terms of one-many words from Cyril to Classic can be chosen using the linguistic model; finally, the transformation will be finished. It can transform a random Cyril text into Classic one, so does the one-many words from Cyril to Classic.
